the sweetheart of the lemonade
lay lonely in his bed
the pinecones carved like porcupines
descending on the chimes
but we wouldn't want the warden to know we were running out
are we safe beneath the beaches, playing may apples allowed
if you run and hide i'll have to come and find you, have no doubt
we can bow at nature's show

my ono lemonade

the prince, he shelled pistachios
to catch the blood from hearts
he drank his fill of lemonade
and didn't mind the spills
and when the pleasure finally laid him on the ground so he could shout
and today they say they heard him on the other side of town
naked only in the hours in between the time of clouds
they're gonna burn up all his clothes

my ono lemonade
